I’m a web developer by trade, having made or developed 100+ sites in WordPress in my career. I’m also fortunate in that I have a wealth of UI\/UX experience. I have a fascination for problem solving, thinking, cognitive psychology and behavioral economics. I love digging into the “Why” behind design and development, as motive and is the most powerful of all heuristics. Figuring out the “why” is how we figure out the “how” and ultimately the “what”. Hey, My name is Christine Laikind. I am deaf. I am also an entrepreneur, running a digital marketing agency and virtual assistant service. I am also an advocate speaker – I talk about web accessibility. To the Web Design community. To small businesses. To nonprofit organizations. You may or may not have heard about web accessibility. Or Inclusive design. But anyone that has a website, web accessibility is becoming more important than ever. Why? I’ve developed WordPress Websites for about 10 years. After experiencing a hacked site in 2012 I became obsessed with website security and with educating others on \u201cend to end\u201d online security. I\u2019m a Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) and I am currently pursuing the Offensive Security Certified Professional cert (OSCP) through Kali Linux. My teaching style has always been to try to take complex technical jargon and bring it down to a level where end users can understand it. I differentiate myself as an educator by not just telling students to do (or not do) something, but rather explain the importance of \u201cWhy\u201d and through story-telling to get the point across and make it stick.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t

I am a content strategist at a local web design and digital marketing agency called Engenius. I’m heavily involved in the beginning of our web design process: asking the client dozens of questions to understand their business, getting to know their different target audiences, and then using that information to structure a website that best meets their needs.
